JOHN THOMAS LLOYD.

Peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Meadowood Manor on Sunday. May 22. 1988. Mr. John Thomas Lloyd , (Jack), aged 81 years, beloved husband of Ruby.

Born November 29th 1906 in Pwllheli North Wales, he came to Canada in the fall of 1929. He married Ruby Jennings on April 11, 1931. Together they resided in the Mather district where Jack farmed until 1948. He worked for both the Cartwright and Crystal City creameries until his retirement in 1979.

After a short retirement in Mather, due to health reasons he moved to Winnipeg. He was a resident at the Meadowood Manor since November 1981. Jack was predeceased by his son Owen in 1945 and leaves to cherish his memory besides his wife Ruby; his son Ronald and wife Muriel of Winnipeg; granddaughters. Cheryl and husband Peter Kohanek, Laureen and husband Rick Fenske., Brenda and husband Ron Copeland one great-granddaughter Alyssa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews both in Canada and North Wales.

Jack was an avid curler and was presented with an Honorary Life Membership in the Mather Curling Club In April. 1978. His love of the outdoors and time spent with his friends hunting and fishing will always be remembered. Jack also enjoyed watching wrestling and spending free time in his garden.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Maadowood Manor for their many acts of kindness and the compassionate care extended to Jack. Your concern is greatly appreciated and shall always be remembered. Funeral services will be held at the Mather United Church on Thursday. May 26th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Dorcas Larson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mather Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg on Friday, May 27 at 7:30 pm at Meadowood Manor, 577 St Annes Rd. Flowers are gratefully declined, however as an expression of sympathy, contrbutions may be made te Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, 577 St Annes Rd or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
