PWLLHELI COUNTY COURT COMPENSATION CASES.

This court was held on Tuesday, before his Honour Judge Wm. Evans.

Thomas Williams, Penlan Street, for whom Mr O. Robyns Owen appeared, sued David Price, Cil-llidiart, for the return of money paid him on account of the purchase of a horse.

Mr W. Cradoc Davies defended. Mr Robyns Owen, in opening the case, said that Williams wanted a horse that would work in single and double harness, and the defendant intimated that his horse would suit him all right. The animal was bought in the belief that it would work satisfactorily, but when plaintiff took it home he found that it was a jibber.

Just when Mr Owen was about to finish his opening statement the plaintiff, who was with the witnesses outside the court, opened the door, popped his head inside, and shouted, "The case is settled." The Judge, advocates, and all in court roared with laughter, in which Mr Owen joined.

The case was then stopped and struck out.
