MR. EVAN FOULKE. GWYNEDD, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

Evan Foulke was born in 1689 in Coed-Y-Foel, Rhiwlas, Llandderfel, Merionethshire, Gwynedd, Wales. He was the 3rd son and 5th child of Edward and Eleanor "Hugh(es)" Foulke.

Evan emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his parents and siblings, leaving Coed-Y-Foel on 3rd February 1698 and arriving in Liverpool in 2 days. Fourteen days later they boarded the ship "Robert and Elizabeth and sailed to Ireland and on to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania arriving on 17th May 1698.

Evan's father purchased a tract of land of about 700 acres at Gwynedd (North Wales) and settled there the beginning of November 1698.

Evan married Ellin Roberts on 27 Feb 1725. in Gwynedd Friends Monthly Meeting. They had three children:
1. Margaret Foulke, 1726–1798
2. Anne Foulke, 1730–1745
3. Edward Foulke, 1735–1745

Ellin died in 1736 in Gwynedd.

Evan second married Anne Coulston on 20 Sep 1743 in Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. They had two children:
1. Esther Foulke, 1744 –
2. Ellen Foulke, 1745–1745
Evan died 25 May, 1745 in Gwynedd and is buried in Gwynedd Friends Cemetery.

MR. EVAN FOULKE. GWYNEDD, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

EVAN FOULKE, of Gwynedd, son of Edward, b. in Wales, immigrant, 1698, with his parents, d. 1745. He received from his father, in 1725, 250 acres of the eastern side of the latter's original tract, the east corner of which was almost precisely at the present village of Spring-House, and he lived near that place. He married 1st, Ellen Roberts, daughter of Edward of Gwynedd, and, 2nd, Anne Coulston, widow. September 20th 1745, letters of administration were granted upon his estate to his widow, Anne Foulke.
