MR. JOHN EVANS. UWCHLAN, CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.
JOHN EVANS, of Uwchlan, son of Lewis Evans (1700-1756) and Sarah (1712-1805) his wife was born in Caernarvonshire in 1745 and died in November 1783.He was married, August (licence dated 26th), 1772, to Agnes Barnard, widow of Thomas, and daughter of Abraham and Lydia Carter, of Chester township.
He was a farmer and hotel keeper.
Agnes survived her husband many years, and during the last years of her life lived with her son Elam in Uwchlan.
