MR. RICHARD EVANS. CALVERT COUNTY, MARYLAND.

In the name of God Amen this seventh day of the 11th month called January in the year of our Lord 1703, I Richard Evans of Calvert County in the province of Maryland, being sick and weak of body but of sound mind and memory am willing to put things in such order that so near and as well as I can, may avoid strife and contention among my children hereafter and to the intent of such lands, goods and chattles as the Lord has been pleased to lend me may be disposed of according to my intent and meaning so revoking all former wills by me made, I do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz.

Imprimis my will and mind is that all my just debts be well and truly paid by my Executrix named hereafter.

I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Evans during her natural life the land and plantation whereon I now live, orchard and all the land thereto belonging, it being part of the lands called Hath Hill which I bought of my brother in law Elisha Hall.

My will and mind id that after the decease of my said loving wife I do give and bequeath all the aforesaid piece of land house and orchards thereto belonging being and situate in Calvert County it being part of Hale Hill I do give and bequeath the same to my son Samuel Evans to him and his heirs for ever.

I give my son Samuel Evans three hundred acres of land being in Susqua hannah river ..... County being the north part of the parcel of land called the .... I do give and bequeath the same to him and his heirs for ever.

If it happen that the child my wife is now big with be a boy I do give and bequeath to him four hundred acres of land it being part of a tract of land called Evans range being in Prince George's County in the north branch of pattuxent river I do give the said land to my said son to him and his heirs for ever.

If it should happen to be a girl my wife is now big with my will and mind is that the aforesaid four hundred acres given in the forst article that it shall be rqually divided between my three daughters, Elizabeth Evans, Ann Evans and the child my wife is now big with to them and thier heirs forever.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Evans two hundred acres of land, it being part of Evans range being in prince George's County in the north branch of Pattuxent river I do give my said daughter all the said land to her and her heirs forever.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Evans all that tract of land called Greens Delight being in Prince George's County I do give my said daughter Ann Evans all the said tract of land to her and her heirs for ever.

I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Evans one hundred and fifty acres called Johnsons place being in Dorchester County on the east side of hunger river I give the said one hundred and fifty acres of land to my loving wife during her natural life.

And after my wife's decease I do give the said one hundred and fifty acres of land given to my wife in the ninth article after my wifes decease I do give the said land to my son Samuel Evans and his heirs for ever.

I give and bequeath to my loving wife Elizabeth Evans one third part of all my Goods and Chattles, negroes and tobacco money and merchandise that do at this time properly belong to me either in Marylan or England upon the sea or else where.

I give and bequeath the other two thirds of my Goods and Chattles, negroes, tobacco money, merchandise that do at this time properly belong to me either in Marlyand or England upon the sea or elsewhere to all my children Samuel Evans, Elizabeth Evans and Ann Evans and the child my wife is now big with the said two thirds parts to be equally divided between all my said children and to be paid by my said Executrix hereafter named respectively as they come of age my will and mind is that my son Samuel shall have his third part of the two thirds of my estate when he shall attain the age of eighteen years and my will and mind is that my daughter Elizabeth shall have her part of the two thirds of my estate when she attaind the age of sixteen years or day of marriage which shall first happen and my will is that my daughter Ann Evans shall have part of the two thirds of my estate when she attains the age of sixteen years or day of marriage which shall first happen and my will and mind is that the child my wife is now big with be it son or daughter shall have his or her third part of the two thirds of my estate when he or she shall attain the age of eighteen years and it should please God that if either of my said children shall happen to die before they attain their respective ages that his or their of my estate shall be equally divided between the survivor or survivors of my children.

I constitute ordain and appoint my loving wife Elizabeth Evans my whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.

My will and desire is that my two friends and brothers in law Walter Smith and Benjamin Halls be overseers of this my last Will and Testament to see all the articles herein mentioned and expressed be Executed and performed and fulfilled according to the true intent and meaning of this my last Will and Testament to see all the articles herein mentioned and expressed be executed and performed and fulfilled according to the true intent and meaning of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
