Edward Rees departed this live the 11th day of the Sixth month, 1728, aged about 82, and was decently buried the 13th day of ye same instant at ye burying-place which is at Merion Meeting House.Edward Reese had a son Rees Prees and grandson Edward, and cousins Peter David and Jane Evans.
Edward Rees (ap Rees, ap Rhys, Preece, or Price) married in Wales, Mably, daughter of Owen ap Hugh. Their children were, Rees Price, born in Wales, 1678; Katharine, buried at Merion, 8mo. 23, 1682; Jane, born 1682.
Edward Rees married, as his second wife, Rebecca Humphrey, daughter of Samuel Humphrey (son of Humphrey ap Hugh) no issue.
Edward Prees was the son of Richard Price of Merioneth, who died in Wales, 1685-6.
Richard had this son Edward, who came to Pennsylvania in the "Ship Lyon", 1682; a daughter Jane who married Cadwallader Morgan of Merion; a daughter Hannah who married Rees John William; a son Thomas ap Richard, who remained in Wales; a daughter who married John William of Merion.

The name of Edward Rice appears on the List of Taxables for the Welsh Tract, 1693. He was a "First Purchaser".
