William Evans emigrated from Merionethshire, Wales, and purchased, in 1719, a tract of five hundred acres in Tredyffrin township of this county.

William the emigrant was one of forty two first cousins who came over in the same ship and settled principally in the townships of Limerick and Gwynedd in Montgomery County.
