MR. BENJAMIN HUMPHREY. MERION, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

BENJAMIN HUMPHREY, came to Pennsylvania with his mother, Elizabeth Humphrey, in 1683, and settled in Haverford, but removed to Merion.

In 1694 he was married to Mary Llewellyn, of Haverford. His uncle, John Humphrey, of Merion, having devised all his estate to him, he became a permanent resident of Merion, and died there in 1738, in the seventy sixth year of his age.

He was strongly attached to the principles of Friends, and was remarkable for his hospitality.

Benjamin Humphrey, nephew of John Humphrey of Merion, died there in 1738, aged 76.

Will proved Jan. 17, 1738. Signed 12 Mo. 2, 1737.

His wife was Mary Llewellyn, whom he married in 1694. He had a son, John Humphrey.

Benjamin Humphrey came from Llanegrin, Co. of Merioneth, Wales, with his mother Elizabeth, in 1683. He had a brother Daniel, and sisters Anne, Lydia and Gobitha.

Gobitha died in 1697. Lydia married Ellis Ellis, son of Thomas Ellis; Registrar General under William Penn.
Anne married Edward Robert, of Merion. (1699). Daniel married Hannah, daughter of Dr. Thomas Wynne, in 1695.
