MR. JOHN R. WILLIAMS, POULTNEY, VERMONT.

(A brother of William R.) born in Bangor, Wales, in 1824, emigrated to the United States in 1845, married Elizabeth Culver, of Newton New Jersey in 1849; his wife died in 1857.

Their children were : Anna, born, June 10th, 1850 married; John, born, January 11th, 1852, died June 14th, 1852; Louise, born, May 17th, 1853; Jeremiah, born, August 13th, 1855, died September 6th, 1855; Fred, born, October, 16th 1857.

William R. and John R. Williams came to Poultney in 1866, and have since that time been in the business of Quarrying and manufacturing slate. They are of the firm of Williams Brother and Co., and do an extensive business in the quarrying of slate, and manufacturing the same at their slate mill in Poultney.
