JOHN R. WILLIAMS. PROSPECT, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.
March 18th, 1887, at Prospect, New York, John R. Williams, (Mason) in his 70th year.He was buried with great respect, March 22nd, in the Prospect cemetery, Rev. E. G. Williams, Remsen, officiating.
Mr. Williams was a native of Bardsey Island, North Wales; was married in 1846, to Margaret peters, Lleyn, Caernarvonshire, and after two years he left for America. Settling at first at Utica, New York, he moved afterwards to various places. At last Williamstown, he came to Prospect in 1874, where he finally settled the remainder of his life.
He was a member of the C. M. Church. Devout and sincere in his religious convictions and experiences, faithful in his attendance of the services of the sanctuary, he took an active interest in all that tended to promote the advancement of the cause of Christ.
He made his home of late years with his son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Williams, where his wants were ministered to with loving care.
He left one son and three daughters to mourn his loss. May they follow his footsteps on that good old way which leadeth unto life and glory.
