MR. EVAN PARRY, MANKATO, BLUE EARTH COUNTY, MINNESOTA.

Born at Tregarth, Llandegai, Carnarvonshire, Wales, in 1828.

In 1847 he came to the United States, and after spending three months in Maine he located in Quincy, Mass., and from there, in 1856, he moved to Columbus, S. C.

He married at Chicago November 7, 1861, Miss Ann, daughter of Evan Williams, of Pen Dinas, Carnarvonshire, and located at Cambria, Wisconsin. In May, 1867, he moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where he died December 4th, 1888, leaving him surviving his most estimable wife and five children: Henry I. Parry, Mrs. Mary J. Noe, Miss Annie L. Parry, John O. and Ivan Parry.

Mr. Parry was a stone cutter and contractor by trade, and by honest toil and thrift he had laid by a fair competence for his later years.

He was a member of the city council of Mankato for tour years and always took an active interest in all public matters. He had great determination and honesty of character and was of a kind and social disposition.
