JOHN OWEN. CALEDONIA, COLUMBIA COUNTY, WISCONSIN.
Farmer Section 15; P. O. Portage; was born in August, 1836 in Merionethshire, North Wales; son of John Owen; came to America with his father in 1846, and has lived in the town of Caledonia ever since.He was married, May 29th, 1863, in Caledonia to Ellen Lloyd, who was born in Merionethshire, Wales, May 29th, 1836, daughter of John Lloyd, who came to America in 1842, lived in Racine until 1848, then came to Caledonia, where Mrs. Lloyd died a few months after their arrival. Mr. Lloyd is still living in Howard County, Iowa; Mrs. Owen is a sister of E. W. Lloyd, of Cambria. Mr. Owen has four children - Jennie, Edward C., John L. and Catherine Ellen, all at home.
He is a Republican; has 400 acres of land on his farm; has for years been a Deacon and Trustee in the Welsh Calvanistic Church, of which he and family are members.
