ROBERT R. THOMAS. EMPORIA, LYON COUNTY, KANSAS.

Robert Thomas, and old and highly respected citizen of Lyon County, died at his home, three miles southwest of this city, about noon yesterday. Death resulted from the effects of sun-stroke, to which the deceased succumbed about two years ago, from which he never fully recovered.

He was well known among the Welsh residents of the county and was one of our most successful farmers. He leaves a family of five children to mourn his death. They are all grown. One lives in Pennsylvania, two in Colorado, one in Russell, Kansas, and one of Phenis Creek, southwest of the city.

The funeral service will be held at his late home tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H.J. Whitby and Rev. J.M. Hughes. The remains will be interred in Lower Dry Creek Cemetery.
