Michael Jones was born at Glan Y Gors (house name) in Dinorwic, Caernarfon, Wales in 1830.He married Ellen Griffiths on 23rd December 1853 in Llanrug, Wales. They emigrated to America in 1857 , first living in Slatington, Lehigh, Pennsylvania before settling in Buckingham County, Virginia. All of their children were born in America.
Michael's birth name was Michael Jones but, when he emigrated, he added his father's name (Evan Jones) as his middle name so, he became Michael Evan Jones.
