MR. EVAN GRIFFITH, STEUBEN, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.
Yn Steuben, C. N. dydd Sadwrn, Tachwedd 14, 1840, ar ôl hir gystudd, Me. Evan Griffith, o'r Llawena, yn 75 ml. oed. Brodor ydoedd o Leyn, Swydd Gaernarvon, Gogledd Cymru.Ymfudodd gyda ei deulu i'r wlad hon yn y flwyddyn 1818.
Yr oedd yn ŵr tawel a heddychlawn yn ei gymydogaeth, ac yn benteulu hynaws a thirion. Dygwyd ef dan argyhoeddiadau fel pechadur yn y Diwygiad hynodol a gymerodd le yn Steuben a'r ardaloedd, yn j û. 1838, pan yr oedd yn y 73 flwydd o'i oedran. Bu yn aelod cymeradwy o eglwys yr Annibynwyr yn Mhen y Mynydd o'r pryd byny hyd ei farwolaeth; a chawsom le hyderus i feddwl fod crefydd yn gweini cysur sylweddol iddo yn ei ddyddiau a'i gystudd diweddaf.
Rhoddwyd ei ran farwol mewn bedd yn mynwent y Capel Uchaf y dydd Llun canlynol, a phregethwyd ar yr achlysur i dyrfa luosog o'i gymydogion a'i berthynasau gan Mr. R. Everett, oddiwrth 2 Cor 5.: 1.
Y Cenhadwr Americanaidd ~ Rhagfyr 1840.
