MR. REES EVANS. LOUDOUN COUNTY, VIRGINIA.
REES EVANS, born in Wales, 10 March, 1719, married Bridget Chedley, who wa sborn May 1726. They emigrated from Wales in 1752 and settled in Chester County Pennsylvania, Vincent Township.Martha Evans, a descendant, at Concord Depot, Virginia, has a receipt for the passage of Rice (Rees) Evans, wife and child, from Dublin, Ireland to Pennsylvania, which is dated Dublin April 7th, 1752 and signed by Nathaniel Stokes.
On 27th April 1778 Rees Evans took the oath of Allegiance in Chester County Pennsylvania. On 23rd October 1778 he acquired 340 acres of land in what was then Bedford County Virginia, but now Campbell County, which was created out of Bedford in 1781, described as located on the Falling River at Naked Creek. There was also conveyed to their son Daniel Evans, 225 acres in the same locality 21st November 1778.
There most of the family remained and many of the descendants still are. He died 24th June 1813, age 94 years and she 12th March 1815 aged 89.
