WILL OF MR. GRIFFITH FRANCIS, STEUBEN, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.

In the name of God Amen. I Griffith Francis of the town of Remsen in the County of Oneida and State of new York of the age of seventy one years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say :

First I give and bequeath to my several sons, Lewis Francis, John Francis, William Francis, Henry Francis, Griffith Francis for each the sum of Two Hundred dollars to be paid one year after my decease which I direct and order to be paid to the said respective Legatees as their several legacies.

Second I give and devise to my son Samuel Francis the sum of three hundred dollars to be paid when he shall become the age of twenty one years with the interest to be paid annually each and every year before that time after my decease.

Third I give and bequeath to my daughter Laura Francis the sum of five hundred dollars to be paid within one year after my decease and also one bed and bedding for the same and other bedding which she claims as her own and other things and furniture which she claims is her own.

Fourth I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Francis two hundred dollars to be paid within one year after my decease and also she is to have one bed, bedding and furniture for the same.

I give and bequeath to my daughter Kate H Jones the sum of two hundred dollars to be paid within one year after my decease.

I give and bequeath to Nelly Jones my grandaughter and the daughter of the above Kate H Jones the sum of fifty dollars to be paid when she shall become the age of eighteen years.

Fifth I give and bequaeth to my son Hugh Francis his heirs and assigns all my real estate of every name and nature known as the homestead lying on the north side of the road leading from Remsen village to gthe Fairchild Road so called after paying the within legacies together with all the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging as in any way wise appertaining to have and to hold the premises above described to gthe said Hugh Francis his heirs and assigns forever.

And lastly I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate goods and chattels of what nature and kind soever to my son Hugh Francis after paying therefrom all my debts and funeral expenses and erecting tomb stones to my grave.

Ans I hereby appoint Hugh Thomas the above named sole Executor of this my last swill and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty three.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was, at the date thereof sealed published and declared by thed said Griffith Francis as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
