James R. and Ann Lewis Jones, were natives of Carnarvonshire, North Wales. They came to this country while young and before they were married and settled at Pen Mount in the town of Steuben.To them the following children were born: William J., who died 27 years ago in Steuben; Eleanor, the wife of the late Griffith T. Griffith of Holland Patent; Evan J. who died September 10, 1903, at his home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Mary J., deceased, the wife of Howell R. Jones, now in the Home for Aged Men in Utica; Jesse N., deceased 17th February, 1905; Richard J., who died at Holland Patent, September 13, 1902. All of them were born at Pen Mount.

I James R. Jones of the town of Trenton in the County of Oneida and State of New York, do make publish and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament as follows :First : I give and bequeath to the Welsh Congregational Church that meets and worships in the village of Trenton aforesaid, one hyndred dollars to be applied towards the support of the ministry in said place.
Secondly : I give and bequeath to my son William all that he is indebted to me and enough of my estate to make it amount to the sum of two thousand dollars.
Thirdly : I give and bequeath to my son Evan the sum of three thousand dollars.
Fourthly : I give and bequeath to my daughter Ellen the sum of two thousand and five hundred dollars including in said sum a certain mortgage that I signed over to her / said daughter Ellen.
Fifthly : I give and bequeath to my daughter Ellen's children, namely Mary Anne, Jane Esther, Caroline Louisa and Timothy the sum of one thousand dollars to be equally divided between them five after deducting pay for a grave stone for the grave of my late sister in law, Jane Lewis, also deducting all sums that I have paid out of the said estate of said Jane Lewis.
Sixthly : I order that my beloved wife Ann Jones be well and decently supported during her natural life.
Seventhly : I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary the sum of two thousand dollars in lieu of her wages.
Eighthly : All of my personal property, I give and bequeath to my son Jesse and my son Richard and my daughter Mary and my daughter Ellen to be equally divided between them four.
Ninth : I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth the sum of twenty dollars to be annually every year during her natural life if she shall become helpless and unable to support herself, then in that case that she be supported out of my estate (that is) that each one of the heirs pay an equal sum towards her support.
Tenthly : I give and bequeath James Jones the son of my nephew Robert Jones the sum of twenty dollars.
Eleventh : I give and bequeath to the American Bible Society the sum of three dollars yearly and every year for the term of five years.
Twelveth : I give and bequeath to the American Missionary Society the sum of three dollars a year for 5 years.
Thirteenth : All the rest and residue of my estate of all kind and nature, I give and bequeath to my two daughters Ellen and Mary and sons Jesse and Richard forever.
Fourteenth and lastly : I nominate and appoint my two sons Richard and Jesse to be Executors to this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this 23rd day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty five.

James Jones a adnabyddid yn gyffredin fel James Jones, Y Ffatri, oherwydd iddo fod yn byw yn Ty Cerrig, oedd yn gysylltiedig a ffatri wlan Penycaerau.Ymfudodd i America yn 1818, a sefydlu ar fferm yn ardal French Road, Steuben.
Yn fuan ar ôl cyrraedd America priododd gyda Ann Lewis, merch Evan ac Elinor Lewis, Fachwen, Rhoshirwaun, ble 'roedd Evan Lewis yn gweithio fel gof. Bedyddiwyd Ann yn Eglwys Sant Hywyn, Aberdaron ar 7/4/1786. Yr oedd Ann a rhai o'i theulu wedi ymfudo i America yn 1818 hefyd, ar yr un llong a James Owen, Penycaerau a llawer arall o Lyn.
Ganwyd iddynt chwech o blant yn America ac yr oedd dau o'u meibion Jesse a Richard yn gweithio gartref ar y fferm gyda'i rhieni.
Tua 1860 symydodd y teulu o ardal French Road i fferm ym mhlwyf Trenton.
Bu James R Jones farw ar 3ydd Fedi 1865 yn 70 oed.
Bu Ann Lewis Jones farw ar 3ydd Ionawr 1866 yn 76 oed.
Mae gweddillion y ddau ac hefyd Jesse eu mab wedi cael eu claddu ym mynwent Prospect.
