MR. WILLIAM ARTHUR. LOUISA, IOWA.

I, William Arthur of Columbus City Township, Louisa County, State of Iowa. Being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this life, do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

First. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Catharine the dwelling house in which we live and all the household and kitchen furniture. That she is also to have all the firewood she needs for her use, off the farm during her lifetime. And she is also to ahve one cow kept on the farm summer and winter during her lifetime, and she is also to receive one hundred dollars each year from the farm, payable on the first day of January.

Second. I bequeath to my son Hugh all the land and all the appurtenances thereto belonging that I shall die seized or possessed of. And I also bequeath to him all the personal property he shall take possession of the Real Estate and personal property immediately after my death or the following conditions To wit : First. That my son Hugh is to allow my beloved wife Catharine to retain her dwelling house during her lifetime for her use. Second. My son Hugh is to cut all the firewood my said wife Catharine shall need from year to year during her lifetime. Third. My son Hugh is to keep one cow summer and winter for my said wife during her lifetime.

Third. That my son Hugh is to pay my beloved wife Catharine the sum of one hundred and twenty dollars on the first day of January each year during her lifetime. And after the death of my beloved wife Catharine my son Hugh is to have free and undisturbed possession of all property owned by me at the time of my death on the following conditions.

First that he shall pay to my daughter Ann the sum of five hundred dollars.
Second that he shall also pay to my daughters Jane, Catharine and Elizabeth, each one the sum of six hundred dollars and to my grandaughter Elizabeth Rachel the sum of sixty dollars and my son Hugh is also to pay to my grandson William Arthur Richards the sum of twenty dollars and firther my son Hugh is to have two years time from the date of my said wifes' decease in which to pay the above named legacies.

And I do nominate and appoint my son Hugh Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In testimony whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament subscribed my name and set my seal dated this the 25th day of November in the year of our Lord Onr thousand eight hundred and sixty seven. A D 1867 November 25th.

Signed sealed and declared by the said William Arthur to be his last Will and Testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.
