MR. ROBERT EVANS. NEW HARTFORD, NEW YORK.
Mawrth 2ail, 1878, yn 71 mlwydd oed, Mr. Robert Evans, New Hartford, New York.Cymerodd ei angladd le y dydd Mercher canlynol, pryd y gweinyddwyd gan y Parch. R. Gwesyn Jones, D.D. Rhoddwyd ei gorff yn y vault yn Forest Hill Cemetery, hyd y gwanwyn, pryd y symudir ef i Waterville, lle y claddodd ei wraig gyntaf.
Daeth Mr. Evans i'r wlad hon o Lanegryn, Gogledd Cymru, yn Mai 1850, a bu yn trigianu yn Utica am o dair i bedair blynedd, hyd nes yr aeth i Nelson, lle y bu yn byw tua deng mlynedd. Symudodd i Paris Hill, ac yno y bu ei wraig gyntaf farw tua 12 mlynedd yn ôl. Tua phedair blynedd yn ôl, prynodd dyddyn prydferth yn New Hartford, lle yr oedd ef a'i ail wraig yn byw yn bur ddedwydd hyd nes y daeth angau i'w gymeryd ymaith yn lled ddisymwth. Mae yn gadael ar ei ôl wyth o blant o'i wraig gyntaf, oll yn briod ac mewn amgylchiadad cysurus, sef Lewis R. Evans a Mrs. Isaac Roberts, Utica; John R. Evans a Mrs. Owen Roberts, Paris Hill; Mrs. Owen F. Jones, Waterville; Morgan Evans a Mrs. Morris Williams, Nelson; ac Evan Evans, Big Rock, Illinois. Hefyd mae yn gadael dau o blant bychain o'i ail wraig.
Cyfrifid yr ymadawedig yn ddyn o synwyr cyffredin cryf, ac yn ystod ei oes bu yn ffyddlon gyda chrefydd, a gwasanaethodd yn y swydd o ddiacon yn Llanegryn, Nelson, a Waterville. Yr oedd yn dderbyuiwr o'r DRYCH o'i gychwyniad; a chawsom bleser lawer tro wrth ddadleu ag ef ar bynciau y dydd.
