MR. GRIFFITH R. DAVIES. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON, NEW YORK.

After several months of lingering illness, the death occurred Friday morning unexpectantly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John W. Edwards, in Granville. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Davies was a native of Bethesda, North Wales, emigrating to America forty four years ago and settled in Middle Granville, where he had since resided, being one of the oldest settlers of that place.

He was well known throughout the region and was loved and revered by all. He had served as a deacon of the Welsh C. M. church of that place since its organisation.

He is survived by his aged widow, four daughters and two sons, Richard Davies of Middle Granville, Mrs. J. W. Edwards of Granville, Mrs. Edward Roberts of Venedocia, Mrs. W. H. Williams of New York, Mrs. Anthony Hughes of Middle Granville and rees W. Davies, cashier of the National bank at Ludlow, Vermont. He is the first of the family to be removed by death.
