MR. ROBERT JONES HUMPHREY, POULTNEY, VERMONT.
Born in Wales, May 10th, 1833, and with his parents came to this country while quite young. His father J. W. Humphrey, and mother still live in Middle Granville, New York. He married Delia, the daughter of Julius and Sally Drake, of Castleton, Vermont in 1854. He moved to Poultney in August 1866, was in the employ of J.J. Joslin two years.In December 1873, he purchased the Bulletin printing office, and in connection with B. Frisbie, as editor, from its remains, started the Poultney Journal, which has been successfully published since.
He is the father on nine children - six boys and three girls. The boys are all living, but the girls died in infancy : William F. born, April 16th, 1856; Eva E. born, June 9th, 1858; John C. born, October 21st, 1860; Ada born, August 1st, 1862; George H. born, July 2nd, 1863; Flora born, February 19th, 1866; Louis H. born, September 12th 1867; Charles W. born, January 1st 1870 and Albert D. born, June 15th 1871.
