WILLIAM D. JONES. FAIR HAVEN, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.
William D. Jones, died Monday night at 9.30 after a few days illness with pneumonia complicated with heart trouble. He worked as usual Thursday, was taken ill Thursday night and though everything possible was done for him it all proved unavailing and he died as related Monday night.William D. Jones (Tyhen) was born near Bethesda, Caernarvonshire, Wales, March 4th, 1828. He came to this country in the summer of 1868 and made his home in this town and has since resided here. He was for several years interested in the slate business with his brother, the well known Evan D. Jones, their operations at one time being quite extensive. He was an honest, industrious man, of somewhat retiring disposition and unobtrusive manner, whose chief delight appeared to be found about his own fireside.
He had for years been a member of Welsh Congregational Church and was consistent in his walk and life.
Funeral services were held over his remains this afternoon at the Welsh Congregational Church, Revs. D. L. Williams and E. P. Thomas officiated. The pallbearers were John R. Roberts, Robert R. Hughes, William Parry, Owen O. Thomas, William T. Williams and William M. Thomas. The internment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
