WILLIAM A. JONES. UTICA, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.

Born at Tynlon, Edeyrn, Carnarvonshire, February 17th, 1832. Son of William and Ann Jones. His maternal grandfather was William Owen, a renowned clockmaker of the same place.

Young Jones went to Liverpool in 1849, and there began preaching at Pall Mall Street Church in 1862.

Emigrated to Utica, New York in 1866. He was licensed to preach by the C.M. Presbytery of that locality in August of that year and ordained to the full work of the ministry in June, 1873, and preached to the Welsh Churches of Rome, cattaraugus and Floyd, New York, until February 14th, 1886, when he took pastoral charge of Saron and Elim churches, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, where he still continues.

May 11th, 1867, he married Ellen, daughter of Owen Davies, at Floyd, New York. They had one son, William G. Jones, who resides at Holland Patirnt, New York. His wife died December 10th, 1869.

Mr. Jones is one of the most honest and conscientious of men, and a faithful, earnest labourer for the Lord.
