MR. ROBERT ROBERTS, RACINE, WISCONSIN.
Robert Roberts, one of the prominent and sturdy pioneers of Racine county, died at 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon, at his home one mile east of Union Grove, of nervous prostration, aged 74 years.Mr. Roberts was born near Bala, Merioneth, North Wales, October 28th 1830. In the year 1851 he came to Racine county. During the year 1857 he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Roberts, daughter of the late Richard Roberts, and in the year 1860 they moved on to the farm where he died. Mrs Roberts died in 1898.
Of the six children born, four survive, namely : Mrs. Jennie Nelson and William L. Roberts, Union Grove; Miss Margaret Roberts and Robert Roberts, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mr. Roberts had been sick since last fall and was a great sufferer. He was a hard working, honourable and upright man, of mild disposition and it was always his motto to work while he was physically able. Throughout the country he had a large number of warm and lasting friends.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday at 10 o'clock from the Congregational church at Union Grove, of which he was a member.
