MRS. MARGARET EVANS. OSHKOSH, WINNEBEGO, WISCONSIN.
A large number of friends in this city and vicinity will receive with regret the announcement of the death of Mrs. Margaret Evans, formerly of the Welsh settlement, which occurred last Friday, March 17th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. E. Evans, Goodwill, South Dakota. The deceased was ninety years of age and death was due to general debility.Her husband, the late David E. Evans, died in 1874. Mr. and Mrs. Evans were among the early pioneers in this vicinity and were widely known. Those who survive the deceased are two sons and one daughter. The sons are W. D. Evans, who resides at the Welsh settlement. Wynn Evans of Phoenix, and the daughter is Mrs. D. E. Evans of Goodwill. Another son was formerly a book keeper in the Old National Bank and died nine years ago.
The remains were brought to this city over the Wisconsin Central railway Sunday and were taken to the Soper undertaking rooms, where many friends called today to view the remains. The funeral will be held next Wednesday with services at noon at the home of the son, William D. Evans in the Welsh settlement and at 1 o'clock at the Bethesda church. Internment will occur in Bethesda cemetery.
