HUMPHREY v JONES.

SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A WELSH MINISTER.

The "Drych" and the "Wasg", the two Welsh-American newspapers, give publicity to the fact that a judicial investigation is on foot in New York with regard to a charge of affiliation, preferred by Laura A. Jones against the Rev G. H. Humphreys, M.A., New York.

The proceedings are conducted in camera, and have just resulted in the following decision :-
That Mr Humphreys pay 500 dollars to Laura Jones, and contribute five dollars a week for 14 years towards the maintenance of her child, of which he is adjudged to be the father.

Mr Humphreys is going to appeal against the decision.

Mr Humphreys is a leading Welsh Calvinistic Methodist minister, and preached two years ago at the dowlais connexional quarterly meetings.
