Sixty three years ago he came onto the old farm where he remained for more than half a century. His funeral was the first to occur from the homestead for over fifty years.
He leaves a wife, two daughters, Harriette and Mary; also a married son, one grandson, besides many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. Ellis Evans of this city. Mr. Elb. Gittins and his sister of Franksville furnished the music. The body was interred in Mound cemetery.
Mr. Jones was known in the community as a great bible student, a phrenologist and was generally able to tell the signs of the weather. He was a kind and loving husband, an affectionate father, and accomodating neighbour and a good loyal citizen. He will be greatly missed in the community.
