PROPRIETOR OF HOTEL WILLIAMS.

John R. Williams, proprietor of Hotel Williams died there at 12:45 o'clock this morning. He had been in poor health for some time and confined to his bed since January. Death was the result of complications, but Mr. Willias' chief affliction was locomotor ataxia.

Mr. Williams was born in Penygroes, Llanllyfni, North Wales and was 44 years of age November 6th last. He lived in his native country until about 25 years ago when he came to this country and, after a few months in New York, to this city. Mr. Williams was a carpenter and builder and was successful in the pursuit of this business. About six years ago, he also engaged in hotel keeping on Blandina street. Three years ago, he gave up active perticipation in the carpentry trade, remodelled and enlarged his hotel and continuously since conducted that well known establishment.

For a number of years, Mr. Williams was a member of Coke Memorial Church and later was identified with the Forst M. E. Church. He was twice married. His first wife, Miss Ellen Hughes, a native of Wales, became his bride while he was in New York. On October 10th, 1901, Mr. Williams and Miss Sara Hoy of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, were wedded and she survives as do four children, Theresa, Margaret A., Frank J., and Thorman Williams of this city. His mother Mrs. Theresa Williams, four sisters and four brothers are also living. They are Roger Williams of Oakland, California, Frederick of Wales, Charles and James of this city, Emily Williams and Mrs. M. Sullivan of Boston, Mrs. Frank Stompe of Chicago and Miss Kate A. Williams.
