DAVID R. MORRIS. SLATINGTON, LEHIGH, PENNSYLVANIA.
David R. Morris, a well-known citizen of town, died suddenly, while visiting in New York City, early last Friday morning.Deceased came to this country about 45 years ago and located in this town. He was connected with the slate industry up to a few years ago, when he retired.
Deceased is survived by the following children by his first wife: Mrs. Hugh J. Roberts and William D. Morris, of town; Mrs. W. A. Campbell, of Camden, N.J.; David Morris, who is travelling through the States with a theatrical troupe, and Miss Jennie Morris, of Philadelphia.
The funeral was held from the home of Hugh J. Roberts, Williams Street, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and was very largely attended. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful.
Interment was made in Fairview cemetery, Revs. John Williams, of the Welsh Presbyterian Church, and Gomer Evans, of the Baptist Church, officiating.
A number of out-of-town friends were at the funeral. The family extend sincere thanks to all neighbors and friends for kindness and sympathy shown during their bereavement.
