OWEN OWEN JONES. UTICA, ONEIDA COUNTY, NEW YORK.
Utice February 8th - Crushed by the fall of a car under which he was working. Owen O. Jones of 138 Miller Street, was instantly killed yesterday afternoon in the East Utica yards of the New York Central Railroad. He had been employed for more than two years by the railroad company and had worked for some time as a carpenter in the car repairing department. The car had been jacked up so that he could get under it to work to greater advantage. No one was near Mr. Jones when the accident occurred.Coroner Dodd will investigate the case.
Mr. Jones was the son of Owen and Ellen Jones and was born at Llanwnda, North Wales, November 17th, 1869.
About twenty years ago he cvame to this country, remaining for nine years. He then returned to Wales, where hee lived until about three years ago, when again he returned to America. He was a member of Moriah Church and also of the Trued Ivorites. About 10 years ago he was married to Miss Edith Roberts, who survives him. His parents are also living at Hafod Talog, Caernarvonshire, Wales, and several brothers and sisters also survive him there. A brother, Griffith O. Jones, living at Granville, New York, was notified of the accident last night.
