JOHN P. WILLIAMS. WILKESBARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.

John P. Williams, aged 30, an esteemed resident of this city, died at Mercy Hospital, Saturday morning from injuries he received while at work in the mines of the No. 5 colliery of the Lehigh and Wilkes-Barre Coal Company.

Mr. Williams, who was employed as a machinist, was working in a part of the mine that is double tracked. He stepped out of the way of one trip of cars and into the path of another. His legs were crushed and he was injured internally.

He was born in Wales and came to this city about a year ago. He was a member of the Moose.

Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Robert and David, also by his father and a brother in Wales.

The funeral will take place from the home of Edward Williams, 256 McLean Street, this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Services will be conducted in the Parrish Street Baptist Church by Rev. James V. Lewis, with internment in the Ashley Cemetery.
