The death of Richard Davies occurred at his home in this village in the early morning of Tuesday, October 5th, after months of suffering.Richard G Davies was born in Bethesda, North Wales, June 25th, 1851. He came to this country in his early childhood and was one of the oldest of the Welsh residents of this village.
He was the possessor of a fine tenor voice and for many years was leader of the choir in the Welsh C. M. church, of which he was a faithful member. Of a quiet unassuming nature, he was best loved by those who knew him best. The wife and daughter he has left have the sympathy of the community.
The funeral will be held from the Welsh church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The lodge of True Ivorites of which he was a member, will have charge.

The funeral of Richard G. Davies was held from the Welsh C. M. Church Friday afternoon, Rev. W. D. Thomas and rev. W. O. Williams oficiating. The church was built and the floral offerings numerous and beautiful, testifying to thr high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. The remarks by both clergymen were appropriate and comforting. Favorite hymns of Mr. Davies were sung by the choir of which he had been the leader.The public school was closed for the afternoon. The faculty and board of education attended in a body. Mr. Davies was member of the latter body. Many out of town friends and relatives were present at the service.
The internment was in Elmwood Cemetery, and was in charge of the Ivorite lodge.
