DAVID D. JONES. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The death of David D. Jones last week removed a man highly respected in all walks of life.

He was born in Cwm y Glo, North Wales, sixty-four years ago, coming to America in 1887, since which time he has resided in this village with the exception of one year at Middle Granville.

He was married in 1889 to Catherine A. Shrine of Liverpool, England, who survives with one daughter, Eileen.

He was a faithful member of the presbyterian Church, and some eight years ago was elected a deacon.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Church, and were largely attended. Rev. W. Owen Williams, officiated, assisted by Rev. John Morris of South Poultney and Rev. Joseph Evans of New York. Mr. Evans offered prayed in English. Mr. Williams spoke beautifully of the life and character of the deceased. Remarks in Welsh were made by Rev. Mr. Morris, who is well acquainted with relatives of Mr. Jones in Wales.

Several Welsh hymns were sung, also 'Lead Kindly Light,' in English. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Burial was in the family plot at Mettowee Valley Cemetery, the bearers being Hugh Jones, Owen H. Williams, Robert O. Roberts, David W. Pritchard, David O. Owens and William O. Jones.
