MR. OWEN R. HUGHES. FAIR HAVEN, RUTLAND CO., VERMONT.

Owen R. Hughes died at his home in Fair Haven on Sunday, January 21st with a complication of diseases. He was born in Bethesda, North Wales, on October 2nd, 1843, and was the son of the late Richard and Grace Hughes. He resided in this place for about 40 years, going to Fair Haven 17 years ago.

He was twice married; his first wife being Margaret Thomas. On March 16th, 1906, he was married to Ellen Jones.

Mr. Hughes was a slatemaker by trade and was a member of the Welsh Congregational church. He was also a member of The Ivorite and Odd Fellows Lodges of this town.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Griffith Morris of this place, four sons, Robert O., John O., of North Poultney, William of Poultney and Richrd O. of East Boston, Massechusetts.

The funeral was held from his late home in Fair Haven on Wednesday, the Rev. John D. Owens officiating. The bearers were were : H. T. Hope, H. R. Williams, Edward Edwards, Richard Pritchard Griffith Williams and John W. Jones. The remains were laid at rest in Hillside cemetery, Poultney.
