MR. ROBERT WILLIAM FORSYTHE GRIFFITH, GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON, NEW YORK.

The death of Robert Forsythe Griffith occurred Saturday afternoon at his home on Broadview Terrace, after a brief illness of pneumonia. His death was so sudden that very few people knew he was ill.

Mr. Griffith was born in Bethesda, North Wales, in 1862. He came to this country thirty-nine years ago, since which time he has been a resident of Granville and vicinity.

He first married Miss Anna Jones, who died five years later. He afterwards married Miss Katherine Jones, thirty years ago, a sister of his first wife. Three children were born to them: Dorothy, who died in 1916; Elizabeth Forsythe and Katherine Roberta, who with the wife survive, together with one sister, Mrs. David Parry of Clayton, one brother, Griffith Griffith of South Wales and two nieces.

Mr. Griffith was a tailor by trade and for twenty-five years occupied the rooms in what is now the Minch block on Main street. He was a man of integrity and highly respected in the community in which he had long been a resident. A very indulgent husband and father, he will be greatly missed in the home circle.

He was also a member of the M. E. church, also of the Modern Woodmen of America. The funeral was largely attended from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. C. Simmons officiating. Mrs. R. C. Corey beautifully sang two selections. The floral tributes from neighbors and friends were many and beautiful. The bearers were M. S. Strong, L. Carr, R. O. Owens, W. R. Owens, Robert Morris, and Louis Jones.

The business places in the village were closed during the time of the services. The body was placed in the receiving vault in the Mettowee Valley cemetery.
