JOHN WILLIAM MORRIS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The rev. John William Morris, aged seventy-eight years, a retired clergyman in the Welsh Presbyterian Church died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Pickering, Washington Street, Granville. The Rev. Morris who retired five years ago was pastor of the Poultney and South Poultney Presbyterian Church for more than thirty five years.

The Rev. Morris was born in Wales. He was also pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Slatington, Pennsylvania, for seven years and for a number of years was moderator of the New York and Vermont Presbytery. His first charge was at Slatington, where he spent a few years before accepting a call to Poultney. After spending several years at Poultney he again went to Slatington only to return to Poultney a few years later.

Besides the daughter mentioned he is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. WilliamTootney of Philadelphia and Mrs. William R. Williams of Burlington, Vermont; three sons John Morris of Freidricksberg, Virginai, Benjamin Morris of Wallingford, Vermont and William Morris at Poultney, Vermont.
