Thew death of Mrs. Melvin Lewis, Friday evening, came as a shock to the community. She was only ill a few days and thought to be improving when the end came.She was born in Wales coming to this country about nineteen years ago and resided at the home of her uncle, the late Richard Thomas.
Besides her husband she is survived by six children, Foresta, Nellie, Lena, Lucille, Elizabeth and Melvin Jr., one brother, David Griffith of Granville.
The funeral was held from the home Tuesday, Rev. Baker officiating. Burial was in the Mettowee Valley Cemetery. The floral tributes were many and beautiful showing the high esteem in which she was held.
