MR. LEWIS L. JONES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

Lewis L. Jones passed away at his home in South Poultney, Tuesday, May 12th, after a few days illness. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Earl C. Hall, Amsterdam; Mrs. Idris Ellis, South Poultney; two sons. Robert R. Jones, Poultney; Lewis L. Jones Jr.; senior student at the University of Vermont; also a brother, Frank L. Jones of Granville and two sisters, Mrs. William Jones and Mrs. Jane Williams of Bethesda, Wales.

The funeral was largely attended from the South Poultney Presbyterian church Friday, May 15th.

The officiating clergymen were Rev. Baldwin Davies of South Poultney, Rev. R. J. Owens, Middle Granville and Rev. D. C. Davies, Poultney.

The bearers were W. M. Griffiths, Thomas R. Jones, J. W. Roberts and O. O. Pritchard of South Poultney and Dr. O. F. Clough and O. W. McShane of Poultney. Mr. Jones was a member of the True Ivorites and I. O. O. F. of Poultney and had also served as school director for fifteen years.

MR. LEWIS L. JONES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

Lewis L. Jones died at his home in South Poultney on Tuesday of embollism, following an acute attack of a couple of days previously. He had been in poor health for almost a year.

Mr. Jones was born in Bethesda, North Wales, sixty one years ago. He came to this country at the age of 21, locating in this town, and has been a resident here ever since. On February 4th, 1895, he married Miss Laura Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Thomas of Granville, and they have been residents of South Poultney ever since. There were born to them, two daughters, Mrs. Earl C. Hall of Amsterdam, New York, and Mrs. Idris J. Ellis of the south village; and two sons, Robert R. Jones of this village, and Lewis L. Jones Jr., a student at the University of Vermont.

Mr. Jones was one of our most upright citizens, a man of the highest integrity and worth, and for fifteen years he had been a member of the Board od School Directors. He was a member of Netis Lodge. I.O.O.F., of the True Ivorites, and also of the Independent Order of Foresters.

The funeral will be held from the South Poultney church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.

MR. LEWIS L. JONES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

Funeral services for Lewis L. Jones were held on Friday afternoon at the Welsh Presbyterian church in South Poultney. Rev. Baldwin Davies, pastor of the church in the south village, and Rev. R. J. Owens of Middle Granville, New York, were the officiating clergymen.

Burial was in the cemetery at Poultney. The bearers were Dr. O. F. Clough, O. W. McShane, William M. Griffith, Thomas R. Jones, Owen Pritchard and John W. Roberts. There were many beautiful floral tributes.
