MRS. CATHERINE (KATE) W. GRIFFITH MORRIS. WEST PAWLET, RUTLAND CO. VERMONT.

Mrs. Catherine W. Morris, age seventy-two years, who died at her home in West Pawlet Wednesday of last week, was born in Wales, the daughter of John and Catherine Griffiths. She was united in marriage to Charles C. Morris, March 28th, 1884 and the couple always lived in West Pawlet.

Of this marriage three children were born : one son, John Charles Morris; two daughters, Mrs. Romaine Garrick and Mrs. Cadwalader J. Roberts.

Mrs. Morris was an estimable woman. She was a member of Evening Flower chapter, O.E.S., the Welsh Congregational church and its Ladies Aid society. Her friends were legion and the beauty of her character reflected in all with whom she came in contact. A devoted Christian, she never missed services at her church as long as health permitted. In Mrs. Morris, West Pawlet people felt the presence of a friend and sympathizer. She loved her family, her home, her friends and her village, and each and every one will miss her deeply and sincerely. Truly, she made everyone happier and better for her presence of nearly half a century in West Pawlet. The sympathy of all is extended to the family.

The funeral servcies were held Sunday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roberts, the officiating clergymen being Rev. Richard Owen of Middle Granville and rev. John M. Pritchard od Se-coy, New York.

The bearers were : Lewis Jones, Samuel Parry, John Parry Owen, Griffith J. Griffiths, John W. Jones and Robert Jones. Burial was made in the North Pawlet cemetery.

Musical selections were rendered by amixed quartet from Granville; Mrs. Davies, Mrs. Wood, Ernest Morris and William Tudor Roberts, who sang Lead Kindly Light" "Ni fuasai gennyf obaith." The floral tributes were beautiful and in profusion.

The survivors are her husband and children mentioned, two sisters, four brothers, one of whom, Robert Griffiths, lives in Windgap, Pennsylvania, and who attended the funeral, as did also his daughter, Mrs. Temple and son in law, Mr. Ambrose. The two sisters are Mrs. Mary Jones of Utica and Mrs. John O. Jones of Montclair, New Jersey, the latter being present with her husband. Nine grandchildren also survive.
