MRS. MARY G. WILLIAMS ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, NEW YORK.

The death of Mrs. Mary Roberts, eighty-five years of age, widow of James Roberts, occurred Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Humphrey Griffith, Lincoln street, Granville. She had been in poor health for many years.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Bethesda, North Wales, November 15th, 1846, her maiden name being Miss Mary Thomas. She was married to Robert Griffith in Wales, they coming to the United States fifty years ago and locating in Bangor, Pennsylvania.

To them were born three daughters, two of whom survive, Mrs. Joseph Bennett and Mrs. William R. Davies, both of Bangor, Pennsylvania. Mrs. David T. Williams, the other daughter died in Granville more than twenty years ago. Mr. Griffith died within two years after coming to Bangor.

The widow then married James Roberts, forty seven years ago. They moved to Granville forty years ago. To them were born one daughter, now Mrs. Humphrey Griffith.

Survivors, besides the three daughters mentioned, are ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a devout Christian woman, a member of the Welsh Presbyterian church, a kind neighbor and friend, devoted to her family.

The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Griffith, the Rev. Richard Owen of Middle Granville officiating. Burial was made in the family plot in Mettowee cemetery, beside her husband, who died twenty three years ago.
