ROBERT G. ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.
The death of Robert G. Roberts, Bulkeley Avenue, aged fifty-six occurred early Sunday evening, the result of a paralyzed throat, after months of suffering.He was born July 7th, 1876, in Festiniog, North Wales, the son of George and Ellen Jones Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was united in marriage with Miss Ann Jones, December 18th, 1898. The couple came to the United States twenty-seven years ago, locating in North Poultney. Two years later they moved to Granville, where they have since resided. To them were born ten children, four dying during infancy and the death of their daughter Elizabeth occurring fifteen years ago.
The survivors include his wife, three sons, John A., George and Robert D.; two daughters, Sally and Jennie; together with his mother, Mrs. George Roberts, all of Granville. Seven brothers also survive; Harry of Buffalo, Richard, Steven, John and Griffith Roberts of Granville; George and William of Utica.
Mr. Roberts was a slate maker by trade, affiliated with the order of the Maccabees and a member of the Welsh Congregational Church, from where the funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon. The officiating clergymen were Rev. Elwen Owens, Rev. H. P. Kaulfuss and rev. Richard Owen. The bearers were: Evan Williams, David Williams, Owen W. Roberts, Robert L. Williams, W. P. Thomas og Granville and Edward Owens of Middle Granville. Burial was in Mettowee Valley Cemetery.
