THOMAS T. WILLIAMS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The death of Thomas T. Williams, age eighty-four years, Prospect Street, Granville, occurred early Saturday morning at his home, following a five weeks' illness. He was the last survivor of twelve children.

Mr. Williams was born October 1st, 1847, the son of Thomas Williams and Ellen Davies Williams. He was united in marriage with Miss Esther Williams in 1874, at Poultney, Vermont, and they resided at Poultney and Hampton, before coming to Granville in 1892, where they since made their home.

Four children were born to them, who survive, and are T. Albert Williams, Granville; J. Fred Williams, Concord, California; Mrs. W. M. Hartt, Long Meadow; and Mrs. F. M. Smith of Springfield Center, New York. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Andrew and Thomas Smith, and Mrs. Catherine Schultes.

Mr. Williams was a pioneer in the slate industry in Vermont and New York State, in which he was engaged for sixty-five years. He was a member of the Welsh Congregational Church of Granville and of Morning Star Lodge, F and A. M., Poultney, for sixty years.

The funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Welsh Congregational Church, Rev. Samuel Prytherch officiating. Two selections were sung by the quartet composed of William Tudor Roberts, William G. Williams, Mrs. Edwal Jones and Miss Gwen Owens.The internment was in the Mettowee Valley Cemetery, beside his wife, whose death occurred December 3rd, 1930. The Morning Star lodge of Poultney had charge of the committal service and members of the order acted as bearers.

Mr. Williams was one of Granville's highly esteemed citizens; a loyal friend and most devoted to his family. A great reader, he was always well informed on matters of the day, and in this he got his recreation. There are many friends in this village and the vicinity who mourn his passing.
