The death of Mrs. William B. Edwards of Granville, occurred Friday of pneumonia at St David's Hospital, New York City. She had been passing several weeks in the City visiting her daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Lewis and son Robert Edwards when stricken by illness.

She was formerly Miss Ann Mary Roberts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Roberts, and was born in North Wales, July 4th, 1861, coming to the United States when a child with her parents and a resident of Granville for twenty-five years. September 25th, 1885, she was married to William B. Edwards, the ceremony taking place in Granville, where they made their home. To them were born six children. Two died, one in infancy and one when six years old. Those surviving are: William B. of Granville, Wesley of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Robert of New York and one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Lewis; also two grandchildren, Robert E. Lewis, New York and William B. Edwards Jr., Granville.

The death of her husband happened in August 1917.

She was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church and formerly active in Church organizations.

Mrs. Edwards was devoted to her home and made many friends among the Welsh people of Granville. She was considered one of the pioneers of the community.

Largely attended funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon. A prayer service was held at the home of her son, William B. Edwards, preceded by a service at the Welsh Presbyterian Church, Rev. D. C. Davies of Poultney officiated at the home and the church. There was the customary congregational singing of hymns and the services were impressive.

The bearers were: David O. Owens, Hugh Morgan Evans, David pritchard, Thomas Rowlands, Hugh K. Thomas of Granville and Llewelyn Owens of New York. The burial was in the family plot in Mettowee Valley Cemetery beside her husband.
