MATTHEW H. ROBERTS. SLATINGTON, LEHIGH, PENNSYLVANIA.

Ill for some time with a complication of ailments, Matthew H. Roberts, well known resident of the upper end of Lehigh County, died at his late home near Emerald, yesterday morning at 9.20 o'clock. He celebrated his fifth-fifth birthday two weeks ago.

Born in Wales, Mr. Roberts came to this country while a young man and resided in the vicinity of Slatington for many years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts.

Surviving to mourn his loss are his widow, Nora, nee Frantz, and these children : Mrs. John Horwath, Danielsville; Mrs. Russel Gable, Walnutport; Mrs. George Vogel, Jr., Danielsville; Matthew, Malcolm, John, Allen, Marvin, Lloyd, Eleanor and Walter, all at home. Five grandchildren and one brother, John J. Roberts, of Mauch Chunk, also survive.

Funeral services will be held privately at his late home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Continued public services will be held in Bethel Congregational Church, Fourth and Franklin streets, Slatington. Internment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
