JOHN R. JONES. POULTNEY, RUTLAND COUNTY, VERMONT.

The death of John (Rob) Jones, 67, occurred Saturday morning at his home in South Poultney following failing health for the past year though confined to bed but a few weeks.

Mr. Jones was born in Festiniog, North Wales, the son of Daniel and Ann Jones. March 20th, 1893, he married Ellen Hughes and to them were born six sons and two daughters, Daniel, Ellis, Meirion and Robert of South Poultney and Glyn and Edwin of Granville; Miss Anne Jones of South Poultney and Mrs. Lincoln Wilde of Utica.

He had been a resident of South Poultney for the past forty-seven years, a quarryman by occupation. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge, the Forester lodge; also a member of the South Poultney Presbyterian Church.

The survivors are the widow and children mentioned, also two sisters who reside in Wales.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the church, Rev. Lemuel Jones officiating. The bearers were were William Morris, Owen Pritchard, Owen J. Jones Thomas O. Jones and Hugh R. Hughes. The burial was in Poultney, Vermont cemetery.

Mr. Jones was one of South Poultney's most respected citizens and a kind and thoughtful husband and father. A legion of friends will mourn his death.
