JOHN T. ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The death of John T. Roberts occurred at his home Thursday afternoon in Utica, after an illness of four weeks. He was born in Festiniog, North Wales, sixty-four years ago, coming to this country when eighteen years of age. He was united in marriage with Ellen Jane Owens, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John D. Owens and settled in Fair Haven, later coming to Granville to reside. Some nineteen years ago, he, with his family, went to Utica to reside.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. David Williams, Eleanor Roberts and Lewis J. Roberts, Utica; Miss Jane Roberts of New York. He also had three grandsons and three sisters, who reside in Wales.

A large funeral service was conducted at his late home in Utica Saturday evening. The remainswere brought to Granville Sunday afternoon accompanied by the family, where a service was conducted at the grave at the Mettowee cemetery by the Ivorite lodge, the deceased being a member. Rev. Mr. Lloyd of Yorkville, assisted in the service. A Welsh hymn was sung by members of the choir.

The bearers were members of the Ivorite lodge, Evan J. Williams, William L. Roberts, Frank Jones, William P. Thomas, David W. Pritchard and Thomas Rowlands.

There was a large profusion of beautiful flowers from the family, relatives, friends and from many societies.

Owens, Ilion; Mrs. Richard Edwards, Yorkville; Mr. and Mrs. William Owens, Melrose, Massachusetts; Mr. and Mrs. William Roberts and son, Springfield, Virginia; Mr. amd Mrs. Wayne Hager and two daughters, Wallingford; William Roberts, Rutland; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Roberts, Mrs. Evan Williams, Mrs. Thomas Owens, Mrs. Herbert Jones, Evan, Glyn, Morris and William Roberts, Mrs. David R. Jones, Poultney, Mr. and Mrs. Glyn Williams, Essex; Mrs. Thomas Hughes and daughter, West Pawlet; Mrs. Margaret Parry, Olwen and Richard Parry of Middle Granville; Edith, Margaret and David Roberts, Glens Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Buss and daughter, Bennington.

Before returning to Utica, the family visited at the home of their aunt, Mrs, Owen D. Roberts.
