DOROTHY THOMAS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.
The death of Mrs. Dorothy Thomas of Granville, occurred at her home on Williams avenue, Monday afternoon after a lingering illness. A few years ago, it was necessary for Mrs. Thomas to have one leg amputated since which time she has been confined to bed much of the time though she was able to be up in a wheel chair a part of each day.Mrs. Thomas was born in Llanberis, North Wales, August 30th, 1858, the daughter of Owen and Margaret Jones. In 1882, she was united in marriage to William W. Thomas, whose death occurred in 1922. She had resided in Granville for the past fifty-two years. She was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian church.
The survivors include two sons, William R. Thomas and Owen W. Thomas, both of Granville, three daughters, Mrs. William Phillips Thomas, Granville, Mrs. Dorothy Aubry of Albany and Mrs. Robert Rowland of Ilion; also five grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held from the home this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ellis Lloyd of new hartford, New York, officiating. The bearers are: Robert C. Williams, Robert L. Williams, Robert C. Owens, Thomas Rowlands, Stephen Roberts and Evan Williams. The burial will be in Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Middle Granville.
Mrs Thomas was one of Granville's finest old ladies. She enjoyed nothing better than a chat with her friends who called to see her and was keenly interested in the affairs of the clay. Sympathy is extended the family in their loss.
