Mrs. Ann Griffith Williams, 85, widow of William M. Williams, died at midnight, Monday, April 6th, 1936, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sol Williams, 115 Louisa Street, after a week's illness. Death came just five weeks after that of a daughter, Mrs. Clark Shaver of Deansboro.Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late John and Jane Griffiths and was born in Corris, North Wales, Sept. 23rd, 1850. She came to Utica 47 years ago and had resided here ever since.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Bethesda Welsh Congregational Church and its Ladies Aid Society. Mr. Williams died 20 years ago.
Surviving are seven children: Mrs. Sol Williams, with whom she lived; Miss Harriet Williams, Utica; Mrs. John F. Poole, Los Angeles; Mrs. Charles A. Bartle, Hempstead, L. I.; Mrs. R. J. Boyd, Oxford; Thomas Williams, Utica, and R. J. Williams, Watervliet; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, John W. Griffith, Seattle, Wash., and Louis Griffith, St. Peter, Minn., and several nieces and nephews.
