JAMES ROBERTS. GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON COUNTY, NEW YORK.

The death of James Roberts, 50, occurred at his home on Elm Street in Granville, Sunday morning at 3 o'clock following a seven weeks' illness.

He was born June 7th, 1886 at Blaenau Festiniog, North Wales.

November 29th, 1911, he was married to Catherine G. Griffiths at Granville, who survives him with one son, James G. Roberts. Other survivors are a brother, Owen Roberts of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Glen Jones of Granville, who has made her home with her aunt and uncle for many years.

Mr. Roberts was a contractor and builder by occupation. He was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, Rev. Ellis Lloyd of the Welsh Presbyterian church officiating. The bearers were Evan Williams, Joseph C. Williams, Harry K. Williams, Albert Roberts, Richard Pritchard and T. S. Edwards. The burial was in the Metowee cemetery in Granville.

James Roberts was a highly respected citizen of Granville. He was outstanding in his trade and did much construction work in this locality during his life of activity which continued until a comparitively short time ago. Pleasant to meet, coutreous to all, intelligent and accomodating, he will be missed in the community where he spent many years of his life.

It is such men as James Roberts who help make a pleasant place to live in, and he was always interested in Granville's welfare. His passing at so early an age leaves many friends who will miss him deeply, and the sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved wife, the son and other members of the family.
